GUIDED KAYAK and CANOE TOURS on the RED DEER RIVER
Two to three hour tours are the most popular with visitors who have a busy day full of other activities. “The Islands” tour takes you through an area of the river where you can enjoy badlands scenery and coal mining and fossil hunting history. There are a number of islands along this stretch.
The “Rosedale” tour continues with the badlands scenery as well as history of fossil hunting and mining. You will see the famous suspension bridge at Rosedale.
For those who have a half day (4-5 hrs.) to enjoy the river, the Islands tour combines with a trip through the famous Horsethief Canyon area.
And if you have a full day to spend you can begin at Morrin Bridge and travel the whole upper Drumheller tour or begin at our headquarters and take the lower Drumheller tour past the Hoodoo Trail to East Coulee.
We offer a variety of snowshoes based on size, equipment, and conditions. Basic instructions are provided to prepare you for your exploration of the badlands and beyond. Shuttle service can be provided for small groups up to 4 people. Walking Poles can also be rented with snow cups for $5.00 per rental.
Our snowshoe tours take place in the badlands around Drumheller. Experience a cultural tour where you take control of the tour. Guides are provided however they are there for safety and experience support, but you are the guide as you traverse the badlands in search for a lost settler named Cassius. Will you save him or his family? Tours are approx 2 hours in length, and you will teach the others about the badlands along the way. Don't understand? Come and experience for yourself!
